Horsepower: 1/2 HP
Speed: 1725 RPM
Cycle: 60 Hz
Number of Speeds: 1
Power Transfer: Belt Drive
Bearings: Shielded and Lubricated
Low cost, but underpowered for this class
High points: Swiveling and sliding headstock. Smooth and easy speed control. Comes with a tool-rest extension.
Low points: Tool-rest and tailstock locking nuts work loose and require retightening often to achieve positive lockdown. Future models will sport nylon locking nuts to cure this problem. The 1⁄2-hp motor offers too little power for a lathe of this size and capacity. Lathe stands too low and needs to be raised for operator comfort. Inconvenient on/off switch position. Considerable vibration.
More points: Offers all the features of the bigger lathes (except horsepower) at a low price.
